Our Story: Proudly Standing Up for Peterborough Since 1918

Peterborough Labour Party was created over 100 years ago by the people of Peterborough, for the people of Peterborough. Our aim is to form a local government in order to improve the lives of Peterborough’s residents and rebuild our city after more than 20 years of neglect and mismanagement under the Conservatives.

We aspire to nothing less than ensuring that our great and beautiful city can fulfil its potential and provide a better life for all its citizens. We are proud of our century of progress in Peterborough which saw the provision of excellent local public services, the building of community assets, the expansion of shared prosperity, rising living standards and the mass-construction of decent, affordable public housing.

Sadly, this progress has not only come to a halt in the past 20 years under this Conservative administration, but we have actually seen a reversal through the decimation of our local public services, the loss of our council housing stock, and the sell-off of our community assets. We will stop the neglect and not only repair the damage to our city but continue to build on its fine legacy to keep Peterborough moving forward and create a better future for all.
