Making a difference for Peterborough.
Following the general election last year, Peterborough is proud to have two Labour MPs – Andrew Pakes and Sam Carling – working to deliver the change Labour promised.
Central to our work in Peterborough are our city councillors, who represent a variety of wards across our city. As of May 2024, the City Council is led by Cllr Dennis Jones alongside a Labour Cabinet who make decisions relating to the major areas covered by the local authority, including children’s services, adult social care, roads and transport, open spaces, and day-to-day services for residents.
Since taking over leadership of the Council, Labour has set out an ambitious vision based around creating a city of opportunity.
We are working to deliver a city with:
- A strong economy, growing inclusively and sustainably;
- Citizens who are are healthy, resilient and supported to be independent;
- A financially sustainable council that delivers value for money;
- The best possible start in life for our children and young people.
